I have a friend with a 2017 with 30,000 and its now doing the same thing. I've seen several lmls do this. Cause low coolant in the cooling system may cause damage to the engine.

Easy Fix For Most If The Coolant Is Just Low.
Resevoir tank does indeed go down, so it is not a faulty sensor. I got the low coolant warning and turned out there was a rubber cap on a heater hose (used to run to the egr i think) that was slowly leaking. Have been getting the low coolant message on and off for a few weeks.

2018.first time my low coolant light came on was at 25,000.took to dealer and it passed their pressure test.they ordered a new tank.crawled around under truck and saw seepage at water pump.never dripped once. You could get a test kit to check for the presence of exhaust gases in the coolant. Coolant temp does not fluxuate or overheat.
